Tips:
* Always try to encourage your players performance. Find something positive to say to them. Let them know it's okay to take risks and challenge yourself. They will only get better if you know what they need to work on!
*You should become a qualified basketball coach before you are put in charge of a training session. Consult Elite Sports Training Inc for information on our Coaching clinics.
*A coach should be responsible for supplying equipment such as basketballs and any other equipment needed for the training sessions.
*Planning ahead is the key to successful training session!
*If you feel that a drill was not done properly, instruct your players to do it again.
*Ensure that your players take drink breaks regularly. Dehydration can have serious consequences.
*Injuries do happen! Make sure a first aid kit is available at your training session.
Don'ts:
*Don't mess with the refs. It sets a bad example to your team if you are kicked out of the game.
*Don't chastise bad performances. Think about it, does a 7-year-old really want to hear you yell at him for not making an easy shot?
*Know the competition. See which hitters are on fire and which ones are in a slump.
Remember:
*Most important of all HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
